Theme: Lessons From The Life of David

Brethren,

How do you feel when another driver cuts in dangerously onto your path? What about that boss who denied you a due promotion, whose son or daughter is now your subordinate?

As we continue with the series on Lessons from the Life of David, David raises the bar to ask us a vital question: What would you do if you got the opportunity to exact vengeance on an enemy who has been chasing you to take your life?

Our topic this Sunday is Leaving Vengeance to God.

Key Learnings:
1. God is The Righteous Judge. Leaving matters in the hands of God and waiting for His judgment is probably the ultimate test of our faith and trust in God, rather than human ability. This is how we acknowledge that God is aware of the injustices that we are suffering and that He alone can administer justice justly and righteously.

2. God will always work in mysterious ways to avenge us because vengeance is His. Let’s trust Him with this. Let’s allow him to act on our behalf.

3. Whatever and however strong the rationale for seeking revenge, we should allow God The Righteous Judge to avenge us. Advice will always come from those around us – on how to seek vengeance. As children of God, we have a divine inheritance and God is calling on us to leave vengeance to Him.
